I previously saw a flow diagram of an acid-base rinsing system, in which the acid and alkali rinsing solutions share one rinsing fluid pump as well as associated piping. I have a few questions for everyone: 1. Can the acid and alkali solutions use the same pipeline, without the need for water flushing when switching between them? 2. Is it related to the concentration whether acidic and alkaline liquids share the same pipeline? 3. Are there any clear provisions in current ** industry standards requiring that acidic and alkaline liquids not be shared through the same pipeline, or are there other industry practices or design guidelines?

I’ve never seen it, but I’ve heard that in the food industry there is such a design: the pipelines operate for 12 hours, during which time they first need to be cleaned with alkali, then with acid, and finally with deionized water, before being used again for another 12 hours… and this process is repeated
For the alkali washing and acid washing on the membrane tube circulation side, one pipeline is shared for both types of cleaning solutions, and there is no water flushing mechanism when switching between the solutions
The circulation volume for alkali and acid cleaning is quite high, and the pipes take up a lot of space; if separate pipes are used, there may not be enough space to accommodate them; When switching wash liquids, water is used for rinsing, which increases the amount of wastewater generated.......... The alkaline wash liquid consists of 2-5% NaOH, while the acidic wash liquid contains 2-5% nitric acid. What problems could arise if these liquids are shared through the same pipelines? Exothermic reaction, salt formation, corrosion, or something else?
Existence is reasonable; the fact that food is available shows that this process works.
