Seeking help: What components are involved in the system design for unloading crude benzene using trucks? What should be kept in mind? What I’m trying to find out now is whether there are any factories that purchase crude benzene from external sources and then transfer it into their own processing systems. Do such facilities require unloading nozzles, buffer tanks, gas release collection systems, and things of that kind? Does anyone who knows the answer could please explain?

Similar to gasoline unloading, pay attention to the following points: (1) Use sealed centrifugal pumps for loading; their flow rate and head should be determined based on specific conditions, and there should be one pump in use along with one as a backup. (2) To prevent the centrifugal pumps from being emptied and to handle any abnormal situations during loading, connect auxiliary lines at the pump’s inlet and outlet. (3) Install venting and nitrogen purging systems for the pumps and their inlet/outlet lines; since benzene is a highly toxic substance, the waste gases from the benzene loading pumps and the nitrogen used for purging should be collected in separate pressure-rated tanks for proper disposal. (4) Equip the pumps with a solvent oil flushing system, and this system can be designed in conjunction with the flushing system for the benzene tanks. (5) The floor of the benzene pump room should be covered with waterproof and anti-corrosion materials, and emergency flushing devices and eyewash stations should be installed inside the pump room.
