There is 20% ammonia solution that needs to be transferred from one pipeline to another, over a distance of about 300 meters, at a flow rate of 40 cubic meters per hour. Ammonia is transported in batches, with 40 cubic meters delivered each time at intervals of about 1-2 days. Will the ammonia pipeline crystallize and get blocked? Also, given the long transportation distance, how should the water pump be selected? Thank you
If it’s cold, make sure to keep warm; a vertical multi-stage pump will do.
300 meters isn’t far; it doesn’t require much head pressure, it’s not 300 meters high after all
Will ammonia water crystallize and cause blockages? From our experience, this does not happen. The key factor is the material of the pipes used for transporting ammonia water; if they are made of carbon steel, they may corrode, but this won’t lead to blockages. As for crystallization, as long as the pipes are well-sealed, it should not occur. We have not encountered such a problem. The choice of pump depends on the medium, head, and resistance; ask the pump seller and they will tell you
