There are 11 DMTO units in operation, 2 SMTO units, and 2 UOP MTO units; the turbines used include those made by Hangzhou Steam Turbine and Elliott, while the compressors are manufactured by Elliott and Shenyang Steam Turbine. I hope that colleagues will share more information on issues related to these units!
During the startup of the Hangzhou Steam Turbine, the TTV valve is in the fully open position, and the speed is directly controlled by the GOV. valve. Turning the shaft is done by using a small oil pump to pressurize the lubricating oil, and the shaft is turned under this oil pressure; the rotation speed for turning the shaft is generally one-eighth of a revolution per minute. Prolonged turning of the shaft causes less damage to the dry gas seal. During the startup of the Elliott turbine, during low-speed warm-up, it is controlled by the TTV valve via a handwheel, with the GOV. valve fully open. Turning the shaft is done by using a shaft turning motor; the rotation speed for this purpose is generally between 10 and 20, depending on the circumstances. Prolonged cranking can easily cause damage to the dry gas seal.
I just saw such a great post – you touched on the key issue. I’ve sent you a private message
The compressor units for ethylene projects generally use a combination of these manufacturers: 1. Elliott Turbines + Elliott Compressors. 2. Hangzhou Steam Turbine + Shenyang Gear Compressor. 3. Hangzhou Steam Turbine + Elliott Compressor. 4. Hangzhou Steam Turbine + Mitsubishi Compressor. 5. Hangzhou Steam Turbine + GE Compressor. 6. Mitsubishi Turbines + Mitsubishi Compressors. 7. Hangzhou Steam Turbine + Hitachi Compressor. 8. Siemens turbines + compressors from other manufacturers…… The turbines produced by Hangzhou Steam Engine Co., Ltd. are used in projects with an annual ethylene production capacity of 1.5 million tons; they have a power output of 10 MW each, which is sufficient to meet the requirements of industrial applications. Why are, aside from a few state-owned enterprise projects that use Shengyu compressors for pyrolysis gas, the vast majority of private enterprises using imported compressors? Low efficiency, poor assembly accuracy, oil leakage, constant minor problems alongside major ones.....
