Why is it bulging outward? What is the purpose of this design? See the figure.

Water tanks, common in high-rise residences, have a protruding round section that makes the structure stronger and less prone to deformation.
The water tank is prone to deformation, right? Let it deform first, haha. .
The principle should be similar to that of tanks with elliptical end caps; the areas that are protruding can withstand much greater pressure than flat areas
