Orifice plate flow meters can be installed vertically, but it is necessary to ensure that the pipe is filled completely; therefore, the flow direction is from bottom to top. During installation, straight sections of pipe must be ensured to guarantee accurate measurements. Attention also needs to be paid to the orientation of the orifice plate during installation. It should be installed horizontally, and the lengths of the straight sections before and after the orifice plate must also be ensured (10d in front and 5d behind). In addition, depending on the medium being measured, there are specific regulations regarding the orientation of the pressure tapping points. Orifice plate flow meters should be installed horizontally; if the medium in the pipeline is gaseous, the pressure tap lines should lead upward at a 45-degree angle, while if the medium is liquid, the pressure tap lines should lead downward at a 45-degree angle.
