Why does reverse osmosis still require pre-treatment steps such as sand filtration, carbon filtration, and resin tanks? After all, reverse osmosis can remove almost everything. Can’t reverse osmosis eliminate calcium and magnesium ions, so is it still necessary to use resin tanks for pre-treatment?
