Dear forum members, according to the static electricity grounding standards 3097-2000 for the petrochemical industry, in section 4.3.6, for the non-conductive sections within metal piping, in addition to special anti-static treatment being required, the metal pipes at both ends must be connected to the main grounding wire, or they must be bonded together using copper stranded wire with a cross-sectional area of at least 6 mm2 before being grounded. What kind of anti-static treatment is meant here, and what requirements need to be met? Are there any other standard specifications regarding this?
The text mentions that one can use such a method, or connect the wires together with a copper core flexible stranded wire having a cross-sectional area of no less than 6 mm2 and then ground it. During the safety assessment, it was required that we use bridging for the flanges; copper braid wire was used, which is quite convenient
According to this regulation, flange bridging is something separate from the antistatic treatment applied to non-conductive pipe fittings. So what exactly is antistatic treatment? ,
