【Little Engineer’s Question】Are there any regulatory requirements regarding the location where large mechanical equipment is placed on-site?

Air compressors that generate a lot of noise require noise reduction measures as well as dedicated air compressor rooms. However, compressors for other gases (such as hydrogen and hydrogen chloride), as well as ice makers, were previously designed with space constraints in mind; they could not be placed under the steel structure, so some of them were installed outdoors. An external environmental protection agency conducted an inspection at the factory and stated that measures to protect against rain must be put in place; otherwise, during rainy days, oil and other substances on these large machinery units would flow into the rainwater drains along with the rainwater. My question is, are there any specifications specifically designed for the layout of these large-scale mechanical equipment? What are the requirements for placement indoors and outdoors?
