Hello everyone, are there any of you who use high-vacuum systems? Could you please explain what types of devices require such systems? What is the function of a high vacuum?

Vacuum levels are roughly divided into several categories: low vacuum – 100,000 to 100,200 Pa; medium vacuum – 100 to 0.1 Pa; high vacuum – 0.1 to 0.00001 Pa; ultra-high vacuum – less than 0.00001 Pa. High vacuum can be utilized for thermal insulation, electrical insulation, and to prevent collisions between molecular electrons and ions. In a high vacuum, the molecular mean free path is greater than the linear dimensions of the container; therefore, high vacuums can be used in devices such as electron tubes, phototubes, cathode ray tubes, X-ray tubes, accelerators, mass spectrometers, and electron microscopes to avoid collisions between molecules, electrons, and ions. This property can also be applied in vacuum coating for use in optics, electronics, or the production of decorative items.
It is commonly used in vacuum distillation systems. Primarily, a negative pressure environment facilitates the evaporation of oil products; meanwhile, the lower distillation temperature required also helps to prevent the condensation and coking of heavy oils
