There is a refined factory building (designed in accordance with building codes), and it is planned to install an additional chiller on the side of the building closest to the wall – without needing to consider nearby factories – in order to supply chilled water to the equipment inside the building. But this location is within the explosion-hazardous area defined by the electrical engineering field. Personally, I believe it is possible to set such a distance; the basis for this is the interpretation of Article 3.4.6 of the building codes, which states that \"the distance between outdoor equipment containing chemically flammable substances and the factory building to which it belongs is primarily determined based on process requirements, and no specific requirement is set out in these codes.\" I wonder what everyone thinks? Also, are there any relevant requirements in the petrochemical regulations?
Explosion-proof motors are used to meet explosion-proof requirements.
It should be sufficient to meet the explosion-proof requirements of the explosion-proof area.
The following solutions can be adopted: 1. The freezer should use explosion-proof electrical equipment; 2. Isolate it from the workshop through a firewall to ensure that the freezer is outside the explosion zone.
May I ask, is there any regulatory basis for this? If a separate building is constructed for the chiller, should fire separation distances be considered in accordance with those for Class C buildings (where the refrigerant is ethylene glycol, Class C) or Class A buildings (when the existing building is Class A)?

The second requirement cannot be met, as there is no other location available. If it is to be installed outside areas prone to explosions, then the spacing requirements specified in building codes or petrochemical industry regulations must be followed.
