Can the temperature measuring instrument of the reactor be disconnected?

Recently, the company installed a new reactor. The new support beam for the reactor platform happens to be at the same height as the mounting point for the temperature measurement equipment. The temperature measuring instrument is a thermocouple thermometer that is about 1.7 meters long. Our chief engineer has asked that this thermometer be cut in order to install it there. Is this allowed? Are there any document specifications? Thank you, expert!
Cutting it off isn’t a good solution; just make a hole in the crossbeam and reinforce it around the edges.
Are there any regulations stating that such actions are not allowed?
I haven’t seen any regulations explicitly prohibiting this. Is it to cut the protective tube, insert most of it back in and weld it, and then insert the core? If the reactor has a casing, it should be fine for the protective tube not to be under pressure. In fact, it is better to order a clamped armored thermocouple core, push it straight up to the closure of the sleeve, and then secure the clamp in place.
Standardize everything, is there a standard for everything one does?
