Recently, Chuanheng Co., Ltd. signed a contract with Ecophos to build no less than 10 new phosphate production lines in China over the next 5–10 years. These facilities will be used to process around 15 million tons per year of low- to medium-grade phosphorus ore, thereby producing 2 million tons per year of high-performance feed phosphates, aiming to become a leader in the global feed phosphates industry. This project makes direct use of medium- and low-grade phosphate rocks without the need for mineral processing. Phosphorus ore is developed in a step-by-step manner, with all elements such as silicon, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and fluorine in it being transformed into usable products, thereby making full use of the phosphorus ore. The production process of this project is green, circular, and low-energy-consuming, changing the current situation of \"high emissions, high consumption, and high costs\" in the industry. The project no longer generates traditional phosphogypsum, eliminating the biggest obstacle to the development of the phosphate chemical industry. The white, high-purity gypsum produced will give rise to a new industry in construction materials, enabling simultaneous development and coordination between green phosphate chemistry and the new construction materials sector. I’m quite aware of the details regarding this thing, but it’s not appropriate to make them public; please understand. It should be noted that there are already multiple production facilities using this process route in Morocco; the feasibility of this process is not an issue, and it does not generate the problem associated with China’s current phosphate chemical industry – namely solid waste gases and phosphogypsum.
The key step is equivalent to wet phosphoric acid; the difference from domestic practices is that sulfuric acid-based wet phosphoric acid is commonly used there. Hydrochloric acid causes severe corrosion of equipment due to the presence of chloride ions. According to the description that \"high-purity white gypsum is available\", there is a question here: organic carbon present in some low-grade phosphate ores, or organic substances brought in during mining, are the main reasons why phosphogypsum appears gray or black in color. Does the process described by the original poster still have certain requirements regarding the phosphate rock used?
