①Are the open discharges (exposed discharges) and closed discharges (hidden discharges) of the containers and pipes in the facility connected together to lead to the underground oil tank, or are there two separate piping systems for each type of discharge? ②Before the oily wastewater (ORD) from the facility is discharged, there is a manhole cover at the boundary of the facility (as shown in the diagram). What is the purpose of this? Is it to allow the liquids to separate through settling first before discharge?
Process equipment and pipelines discharge their waste directly into the oily wastewater system; however, sewage is sent to the sewage system. Whether it is discharged openly or in a sealed manner, anything that is oily waste must be placed in the oily wastewater tank, while otherwise it goes into the sewage system.
Closed emission is recommended, as it promotes safety and environmental protection. The second question concerns the role of a vacuum pump in pumping out the oil after static separation in oil-containing wastewater wells, thereby enabling the collection of the oil
For the open-system approach, the wastewater is routed through the public utility sewage system; for the concealed disposal method, it goes into the underground tank of the device itself. Those manhole covers are usually installed there, at the outlet pipeline wells
Any process fluid entering the oily waste tank must be transported in a sealed manner only; oily wastewater can enter the sewage pipeline system through floor drains. Generally, sewage pipeline systems are not considered sealed systems due to the presence of sewage wells and vent holes. But it also does not belong to the open-channel type; only rainwater and domestic water can be directly discharged into open channels. Oil separation measures are necessary before sending oily wastewater outside.
