After clicking the \"Emergency Stop\" soft button on the DCS, it will initiate an emergency stop in accordance with the established interlock procedures, until the relevant equipment is in a safe position. As for whether this signal remains active after pressing the soft button, it depends on the settings made during configuration; it can be either a pulse signal or a continuous signal. However, none of these factors affect the interlock status, as an RS flip-flop is used in the interlock logic, which maintains the interlock state until a reset signal is received.
