What is the typical flow rate for vacuum piping? Why are low flow rates used in all the cases where contact occurs? Is there any special requirement for this?
The density is low under vacuum; it’s difficult to achieve the desired pumping speed if the tube is too small

I don’t think there are specific regulations stating that the gas flow rate in vacuum tubes must not exceed a certain value; rather, there are some general guidelines regarding gas flow rates that apply to vacuum tubes. The main issue is that the tube is too thin, so the vacuum level cannot be reduced
Vacuum flow rate is related to pressure drop; the most important thing for vacuum pipes is a low pressure drop. The chemical process design manual specifies that for absolute pressures below 49 kPa, the maximum pressure drop per 100 meters is 1.13 kPa; you can use this to calculate the flow velocity.

It can be understood that with a thin tube, the flow velocity is high and the resistance is large (meaning a large pressure drop), making it difficult to achieve an ideal vacuum level. If you think about it this way, you should understand!
The flow rate is determined based on the allowable pressure drop.
