Who is the design pressure and design temperature actually meant for? What is it used for? For ordinary processes, the operating pressure is all that’s needed; what’s the use of the design pressure?
Just like the “rated” value~~ don’t exceed it~~ hehe~~
But the discharge pressure of the safety valve under fire conditions generally exceeds the design pressure. My understanding is that the design temperature and pressure are meant to set requirements for the accessories (such as instruments, valves, etc., attached to the equipment)
After all, this is an abnormal operating condition; the setting pressure of the safety valve is still determined based on the design pressure or the maximum allowable operating pressure~~
Design pressure is useful. Parameters such as the selection of safety valves and the test pressure for pipeline installation all require the design pressure. There are also regulations regarding the criteria for determining design pressure.

During pressure testing, it is mostly operated at the design pressure
Design pressure and design temperature are used when designing equipment and pipelines; they ultimately determine the thickness of such equipment and pipelines, which in turn determines the amount of metal required, as well as the investment cost. In other words, by specifying the design temperature and design pressure, it is possible to roughly calculate the maximum operating pressure at different temperatures. :lol.
For subsequent professional use. In fields such as instrumentation, the voltage and temperature resistance of the selected instruments and accessories must be at least as high as the design pressure and temperature requirements.
It is mainly used for hydraulic and pneumatic pressure tests after pipeline installation is completed; additionally, if safety valves are present, this pressure value is used as a reference, primarily for use by the design team
