For example, there is a tank truck that uses a centrifugal pump located next to the tank farm to pump the material into the storage tanks. This is a common situation. Question: Will the tank truck run out of material? If it runs out of material, the centrifugal pump will end up pumping air, which should cause problems, right? If the material is not emptied and there is still material inside the pipeline, then when the connection between the pipeline and the tank truck is disconnected, the material will leak, right? If it’s a flammable liquid, that can be dangerous. So, how is this process carried out in practice?
