It’s like a safety valve: if the reaction vessel experiences excessive pressure, the safety valve activates to release that pressure. However, if the discharge pipe is quite long, it will take some time for the pressure to be released. At that point, the base of the pipe is subject to high pressure. Generally, the discharge pipe of such a safety valve that leads directly to the atmosphere is designed to operate at normal pressure. Is there any problem with this? ?

It cannot be designed under normal pressure; even for pipes that open directly to the atmosphere, the back pressure must be calculated based on the discharge volume and pipe diameter, to determine the maximum back pressure that can build up in the pipe during discharge. The design pressure is then determined based on this value
