Questions regarding the requirements of chemical industry old factories and building codes

I have a question for everyone: The company has recently installed a new set of equipment, and now fire protection systems need to be designed. The factory building was constructed 6 years ago. I consulted a design firm, which stated that regardless of when the project was initiated, the latest regulations must be applied whenever it is submitted for approval. According to the new building codes, the structural drawings must be redrawn; in other words, the original drawings cannot be used. I’m not too clear about this area; I couldn’t find any information on it in the building codes either:sleepy: Thank you :)
If there are no changes to your factory buildings or equipment, then you will remain compliant even after the new regulations are introduced. However, if new regulations are introduced and you need to add equipment, then you must comply with the new regulations.
