If the gas cylinder is opened and the pressure regulator is also opened, allowing air to flow directly into the atmosphere, then how can the pressure at the outlet of the regulator still be displayed as having pressure? Since it’s connected to the atmosphere, how can there still be pressure? I tried connecting a tube to the outlet and then attaching a pressure gauge, but the gauge showed no reading because there was no pressure buildup; thus, no pressure flowed toward the gauge. I’ve seen schematic diagrams online, and it makes sense if the connection leads to a sealed container. But in the case where air is blown directly into the outlet, how does the pressure gauge read a value? . . . . I’m asking an expert to explain this: In the diagram, the gas cylinder is connected directly, and there are no pipes connected to the tower-type connector. How is the pressure at the outlet measured? The gas should be flowing outward; since the external pressure is low, there shouldn’t be any gas flowing toward the pressure gauge, right?
It’s incorrect to conduct the experiment this way; when the flow rate exceeds a certain value, the pressure gauge indeed does not show any reading. Because there is also frictional resistance in the pipes, there is a limit to the flow velocity. It will be displayed when your flow rate is < this value
The pressure reduction range of a gas cylinder regulator starts from \"zero\", with the ambient pressure serving as the starting pressure. At this time, the valve stem of the pressure relief valve is completely relaxed (the pressure reduction value is “0”). However, this pressure regulator is connected in front of the gas cylinder valve. Therefore, when the gas cylinder valve is opened, the gas cylinder and the area in front of the pressure regulation valve of the regulator are connected to each other; a pressure gauge is installed at this connection point, allowing the pressure inside the cylinder to be measured. When in use, for example when connecting downstream devices such as cutting torches, you can adjust the pressure by using the pressure reduction valve on the regulator, based on the pressure in the gas cylinder; refer to the pressure gauge located after the regulator to adjust the pressure to the desired level. I don’t quite understand. Could you explain more? Because if there is no pipe connected to the outlet of the pressure relief valve, it is connected to the atmosphere; can pressure be measured in that case?
