How to understand the chemically flammable equipment installed outside the factory building as specified in these regulations? 1) It should be understood as ordinary outdoor equipment attached to the factory building. According to the annotations in the building code manuals, the distance L1 between the outdoor equipment and the factory building is determined according to Table 3.4.1. If the equipment belongs to Category A and the factory building also belongs to Category A, the distance between them should be 12 meters; however, no such large distances have been observed in the factories we’ve seen so far. Moreover, in the explanatory notes to Article 3.4.6 of the Building Code, it is stated that \"the distance between outdoor equipment containing chemically flammable substances and the building in which it is located is primarily determined based on process requirements; this code does not specify any requirements in this regard.\" This appears to indicate a contradiction between the annotations in the atlas and the explanatory notes in the code. 2) It should be understood that the concepts of attached and affiliated are different; an affiliated element belongs to the main factory building and is part of it, whereas an attached element is connected to the factory building but does not belong to it. This makes it possible to explain the contents in the atlas annotations and the text explanations. I wonder what everyone thinks about this issue? 2. Scope of application of this standard: Non-combustible items and equipment attached to factories; however, those that fall under categories A or B still need to determine whether this standard applies to them, such as sulfuric acid intermediate tanks.
The distance from this workshop is determined according to the manufacturing process; as long as it meets the requirements for equipment layout, that is sufficient. This clause mainly refers to the distance from adjacent factory buildings. It should be easy to understand.
