Sodium hypochlorite solution flows through the pipeline, and for some reason the pump suddenly failed to generate pressure; upon inspection, the system was filled with air. It is a packed tower that uses one pump for its own circulation and another pump for fluid replacement. Two pipes are connected to the same outlet pipe, but this has not happened before; therefore I would like to ask what the reason is

First, check whether there are any deviations in the various process parameters from the usual values. Then examine the temperature of the fluid pumped by the pump, and also investigate potential issues with devices such as the filters built into the cavitation pump itself, eliminating these problems one by one
Is the liquid level too low?... If there is a level gauge available, please check the condition on site. Also, pay attention to whether there is any blockage in the pipes. It seems that the two pumps share one feed pipeline, which may lead to pulling forces due to an insufficient liquid level. It is recommended to use one pump for both reflux and discharge purposes

In your example, two pumps share the same inlet pipeline; if the liquid level in the distillation tower is low, there may be issues resulting from mutual pulling forces, which can lead to insufficient flow rate or low pressure at one of the pumps, and this may cause cavitation... PS. In terms of design, a minimum height difference (i.e., the gap between the pump and the operating liquid level in the distillation tower) is always provided to prevent cavitation in the pump blades. However, if the actual liquid level is low, combined with the mutual pulling forces from the two pumps, it may prevent the necessary conditions from being met within the pumps, thus leading to cavitation.
