Residence time in the buffer tank before the pump

Everyone, are there any regulations regarding the residence time setting in the buffer tank before the centrifugal pump? We usually set a minimum of 5 minutes, but since there’s no standard to determine the exact duration, I was wondering if anyone knows of any regulations that specify the appropriate length of time to stay
This needs to be calculated, right? For example, using the pump’s flow rate and the capacity of the container, and the resulting time is what we’re talking about here; it’s just a rough estimate: lol, for reference only.
