Dear experts: The environmental impact assessment report for chemical engineering projects generally starts during the design phase. In my understanding, it begins after the feasibility study is completed and ends once the preliminary design is finished. Is that correct?
After the feasibility study, there are environmental impact assessments, safety assessments, energy assessments, and stability assessments; only after all these are completed and approval is granted does the preliminary design begin
An environmental impact assessment report cannot be prepared with only a superficial level of research, especially when new technologies are involved
Under normal circumstances, the environmental impact assessment report is completed before the basic design; if new processes or technologies other than those commonly used are employed, a design institute can be commissioned to assist with the environmental impact assessment. However, the basic design is not a prerequisite for the environmental impact assessment report.
