Oil tankers are generally equipped with unloading pumps. Once the ship is berthed at the dock and the unloading procedures are ready, the dock’s unloading arm is connected to the oil outlet in the ship’s cargo hold; the unloading pump is then started, allowing the oil to be transferred from the ship’s cargo hold to the storage tanks on land； If the head of the unloading pump is insufficient, there is also a dedicated unloading pump area on the shore to provide additional pressure.
