As the discharge from the butane isomerization reactor neared the end of the purging process, several thermocouples in the bed gradually showed negative values. Why?
This is related to thermocouples; generally, thermocouples are suitable for measuring high temperatures, and if the temperature is too low, the measurements will be inaccurate. The choice between thermocouples and thermal resistors for temperature measurement is based on the temperature under normal operating conditions; thermocouples are generally used for measurements above 600 degrees
After the reactor is depressurized, butane vaporizes and absorbs heat, causing the temperature to drop gradually; if it falls below the measurement range, the value will become negative
