Dear seniors and experts, I would like to ask the following question regarding the application of fire protection regulations in a natural gas processing plant that deals with associated gases: The processing sequence for oil, gas, and water mixtures entering the terminal processing plant: 1. Crude oil: Crude oil dehydration → Crude oil stabilization → Crude oil storage; 4x5000m3 crude oil storage tanks ; 2. Natural gas: (1) Light hydrocarbon recovery to produce LPG, 2x650m3 LPG storage tanks ; (2) After purification, natural gas is used to produce LNG; 1x3000m3 LNG storage tanks ; As described above, I would like to know whether, for the factory’s fire protection regulations, GB50160 or GB50183 should be adopted Or should we choose the strictest one? Thank you.
Refer to both; it’s correct to enforce strictly the terms that are identical
I agree with you; I also think it’s a comparison between the two, and that the stricter one should be used. But the current consensus is to use 50183.
Personal opinion: Inside the crude oil tank, GB50160 should be applied; Inside natural gas facilities, GB50183 is applied ; Between the crude oil tank and the natural gas facility, taking GB50160 and GB50183 into consideration together, which one should be strictly followed? ; The distance from the external environment: taking GB50160 and GB50183 into consideration, follow the more stringent one!
Which one should be used for the distance to surrounding factories?

Furthermore, for the same reason as mentioned earlier, if it is the distance between the crude oil processing unit and the external environment, it should still be determined in accordance with GB50160 ; If it is the distance between a natural gas facility and the external environment, it shall be verified in accordance with GB50183 ; The distance between the auxiliary engineering facilities and the external environment shall be determined based on the stricter requirement of the two (the one with higher fire protection distance requirements)
There are many comprehensive processing plants for associated gas in the Yan’an area, of various scales – operated by CNPC, the Yanchang Oilfield, as well as through joint ventures, private enterprises, and other ownership structures; it is possible to visit these sites for a firsthand look.
Refer to both; those with identical terms shall be enforced strictly
