The design pressure is 0.01 MPa; the media involved are sulfur monochloride, sulfur dichloride, and sulfur. The design drawings classify it as a Class II pressure vessel – is a safety valve required? There is no safety valve on the design drawings
Whether a safety valve is needed depends not on whether the equipment is a pressure vessel, but rather on a comprehensive consideration of the entire process system.
Regulate work pressure, classify design pressure! Work stress is the highest stress that can be experienced! Clarify the process!
Sometimes it’s not a matter of whether the process is required, but rather a mandatory requirement from the safety department. Therefore, when designing, it is best to reserve a safety valve interface.
