Hello, everyone. I am currently collecting the steam condensate from a company, but this condensate has a malt flavor to it. I haven’t been able to find the source of the leakage. I’m wondering if anyone has any good methods to remove this malt flavor. Thank you!
Go to that company and thoroughly check each trap to see what’s being discharged there. It should be prevented at the source, and the source of the steam should also be identified. Thank you
If the condensate from a partitioned heat exchanger has an unpleasant odor over time, there is definitely a leakage issue, and it is necessary to conduct inspections section by section in order to resolve the problem at its root.
Okay, thank you all. There is no problem with the source of steam, as there are two streams of condensate water: one with an odor and the other without. Right now, it’s difficult to investigate this issue due to the smell! Can’t find the leak point!
Their steam is used inside the jacket; the steam pressure in the jacket should be high, so even if the medium has an odor, it won’t spread into the condensate water!

It is highly likely that there is a leak in the equipment jacket; it is recommended to fill the jacket with water and apply pressure while the machine is stopped, so as to manually inspect for leaks on the inner wall of the jacket. This is how we identify leakage points in our acid-waste-concentrating graphite tube exchangers and graphite block heat exchangers when steam condensate contains acid. The steam pressure in the shell side is also relatively high, but if there are leaks, acid will still flow from the side of the heat exchanger tubes where the pressure is lower. Low steam pressure and the presence of acid during start-up and shutdown can be quite severe. Passively removing \"unpleasant odors\", membrane filters should be effective, but it has become extremely expensive. It is recommended to address the problem at its source.
