Does anyone know why longitudinal and transverse ribs are added to the bottom of a tank? Can’t it be placed directly on the ground without those ribs? Does anyone know? Is there any standard for this?

In flat-bottomed storage tanks, taking into account the discharge of materials, the bottom is generally not flat; instead, it is sloped as a whole, with a higher area in the middle and lower areas on the sides, so that all the materials can be completely discharged. If the entire bottom is in contact with the ground, the flange connections on the sides will definitely be at a certain height above the ground, making it impossible to drain completely.
