What pipe diameter is suitable for the DN250 circulating water bypass (anti-freezing line)?

I visited a factory and saw that the diameter of the bypass pipes on site was not large; I wondered if using DN50 would be too small
DN20 will suffice; as long as there is water flow in the pipeline, it won’t freeze
It seems sufficient from a freeze protection perspective; if switching is an option, thicken the pipes
