Has anyone ever done this: preheating the reboiler without feeding it?； Due to the heavy composition of the material, there is a risk of it condensing upon entering the cold reboiler; therefore, the process requires preheating the reboiler before the material enters the system, although such an approach seems risky.

Logically, it shouldn’t be the case; the principle for putting a heat exchanger into use is to start with cooling before moving on to heating； However, in practice this is often done by gradually applying heat to reduce thermal stress, and there should be no problem with that.
We usually introduce steam as soon as a liquid level appears, in order to make the tower bottom meet the requirements as quickly as possible. When the liquid level is high, it takes longer for the light components in the tower bottom to meet the specifications.
