I currently possess a program written in Germany that uses thermodynamics to model boilers, and it includes a three-pulse control system for the drum liquid level as well as a program for dosing chemicals into the boiler (by adding chemicals in proportion to the amount of water in the boiler). The programs utilize the IAPWS-97 formulas for the thermodynamic properties of water and steam, ensuring high accuracy!

The space furnace was originally designed to have a steam drum water replenishment system with three impulse controls, but I don’t know if it’s actually used; it seems not very useful, as it has never been utilized.
