Like this, why isn’t a elbow used for the same pipe diameter?
If it’s clean material, a elbow is better. If the material has low cleanliness or is prone to clogging, a tee is a good choice.
Depending on the design, will other pipelines be connected in the future besides the materials? Welding on a pipe cap provides better leakage protection than a flange.
It depends on whether the pipe cap needs to be opened.
Another scenario is when dealing with materials that are not prone to clogging, and in situations where there is limited space for piping installation, if the installation height of a tee is lower than that of an elbow, then a tee will be used instead of an elbow.
One reason is to leave a nozzle for connecting other pipes or hoses, and the other is to facilitate clog removal. Welding a male and female fitting at the pipe cap makes it very convenient to connect hoses, for both purging and discharge purposes.
