Section 6.2 on page 9 of JB/T4731 describes the structure of the bottom plug pipe for the drainage outlet of horizontal vessels. As shown in the diagram, it appears that a head/tube is welded at an opening in the bottom of the horizontal vessel; the liquid accumulates in this recess, and there is a pipe above it – is this pipe fixed in place by a gusset plate? How does this achieve complete drainage? I don’t understand what it means; could anyone with expertise please explain it? Thank you
