Recently, the Sinopec Hainan Refining and Chemicals project, which involves the construction of a million-ton ethylene plant as well as upgrades to the refining facilities, is progressing smoothly in the Yangpu Economic Development Zone, a key area within Hainan Free Trade Port. This project is a key project in Hainan Province; once it is put into operation, it will supply raw materials such as synthetic resins and liquid chemicals to downstream enterprises. GDP comes first; every province must have similar investment projects – in energy, oil refining, airports, steel, automobiles, power plants, highways, and high-speed railways.
