Paragraph 4.3.7 of GB50016 stipulates that for liquid ammonia storage tanks, the fire separation distance shall be determined by reducing the value specified in Article 4.4.1 of this code for liquefied petroleum gas storage tanks by 25%; Note 4 in Table 4.2.9 of GB51283 specifies that the fire separation distance for liquid ammonia storage tanks should be no less than 75% of the fire separation distance required for storage tanks holding liquefied hydrocarbons of equivalent capacity ; In the interpretation of clause 4.2.12 in GB50160, liquid ammonia storage tanks are classified as belonging to Category B fire hazard ; There is no requirement to consider peripheral fire separation distances in terms of liquefied hydrocarbons; only in 6.3.3 is it required that the fire separation distances between liquid ammonia storage tanks comply with those specified for liquefied hydrocarbon storage tanks. The above three standards impose requirements on the grouping arrangement of tanks: combustible liquid pressure storage tanks and liquefied hydrocarbon storage tanks can be arranged in the same group ; Low-pressure and atmospheric storage tanks for flammable liquids can be arranged in the same group ; In other words, pressure storage tanks and storage tanks at normal or low pressure are not allowed to be arranged in the same group. It is obvious that: 1. Depending on the standards adopted, different fire separation requirements apply to liquid ammonia storage tanks; however, both GB50016 and GB51283 require that these requirements be based on 75% of those for liquefied hydrocarbon storage tanks. The fire hazard level of ammonia water is at most classified as Category C, so fire separation distances should be determined according to the guidelines for Category C liquids. 2. Liquid ammonia is stored under pressure, while ammonium hydroxide is stored at atmospheric pressure; they must not be arranged in the same group. Here are a few suggestions: 1. Choose specifications and standards that suit the nature of the project ; 2. To adapt to the current security situation, it is better to go for a higher standard rather than a lower one ; 3. It must meet the local administrative approval requirements.
