I would like to ask my colleagues: regarding the calculation of VOC emissions and the amount of nitrogen used for nitrogen sealing in storage tanks, it is necessary to determine the breathing capacity of these tanks. The standards and documents that can be referenced for this purpose include Specification SH/T3007 \"Design Specifications for Tank Areas in Petrochemical Storage and Transportation Systems\", the calculation methods recommended in the \"Guidelines for Energy-Efficient Design of Oil Depots\" SH/T3002-2000, as well as Sinopec’s documents No. 2016-127 and No. 2018-33. By comparing the results from the two design firms for several projects, it seems that the calculated ventilation rates are quite high and not very accurate; this will have a significant impact on the VOCs recovery facilities and the associated investments. Are there any more accurate calculation methods?
Direct processing requires large equipment; if an adsorption buffer is added, it is possible to design a smaller system. During deep breathing, a large volume of air is inhaled in a short period of time; this can be dealt with gradually after breathing is over. Design institutes may not have sufficient expertise; some designers only know how to use software for calculations and do not understand the production process
