Friends, in oxidation reactions that involve potassium permanganate, in what form is it usually added? Is it added in solid form or as a solution? If a solid is to be added, in what form and by what means is it added? How can automated control be achieved? Thank you!

When using potassium permanganate as an oxidant, it depends on the specific composition of the reactants and the reaction conditions; this requires specific process parameters to be determined. Furthermore, since the oxidation process of potassium permanganate is highly dependent on acidity, temperature, and reduction products, some corresponding process tests may be necessary to make a judgment. Under strong acid conditions, the oxidation capacity is high, but at the same time there may be many and complex oxidation by-products; therefore, it is safer to add it in the form of an aqueous solution. Alternatively, the reaction can be carried out under alkaline conditions; the oxidizing capacity is slightly lower, but products such as manganate and manganese dioxide are formed. If subsequent separation and purification of the components are not a concern, it is also possible to simply add the solid powder directly.
To achieve automatic feeding, considering the use of slurry or suspension is an option; in previous cases where aluminum powder or zinc powder was used, a pulser was installed at a higher position from which the slurry was fed.
