Discussion on issues related to the virtual simulation experiment of nitric acid production process

To address issues such as poor visibility, difficulty in understanding, and the inability to carry out hands-on operations in traditional chemical engineering experiments, Dalian Minzu University has independently developed a virtual simulation experiment for the nitric acid production process, following the principle of combining virtual and real elements to complement each other. This approach effectively overcomes the limitations associated with chemical engineering experiments, namely their high risks, complexity, and high costs. This project uses 3D virtual simulation technology to reconstruct a real factory. Following a teaching approach of \"basic understanding + specialized training + comprehensive innovative practice\", it ensures the quality of experiments, fosters students’ ability to solve complex engineering problems and an inquiry-based way of thinking, thereby meeting the university’s goals for cultivating applied talents.
