For the absorption of sulfur trioxide by sulfuric acid, is it better to use sulfuric acid with a concentration of over 95% or one with a concentration of less than 10%?
Sulfuric acid with a concentration of over 95% is more suitable for absorbing sulfur trioxide. This reduces the dilution of the sulfuric acid produced, thereby improving production efficiency. Low concentrations of sulfuric acid are not conducive to the absorption of sulfur trioxide and produce large amounts of dilute sulfuric acid, increasing the difficulty of subsequent treatment. .
Depending on the purpose, sulfuric acid production seems to involve using high-concentration sulfuric acid for absorption in order to obtain high-concentration sulfuric acid for sale. If it is for treating sulfur trioxide waste gas, the absorption rate is the key factor, and low-concentration sulfuric acid is used for this purpose. However, low-concentration sulfuric acid seems to have no practical use either; alkaline cleaning is better for environmental protection purposes

Using concentrated sulfuric acid to absorb sulfur trioxide is much better than using water or dilute sulfuric acid for this purpose; firstly, it prevents excessive heat generation that could compromise the safety of the equipment, and secondly, it reduces the volume required to store sulfuric acid.
