On December 22, reporters learned from Liaohe Petrochemical Company that its pilot platform for the deep processing of heavy oil has been successfully selected as part of Liaoning Province’s pilot base construction project, providing important support for the transformation and upgrading of petrochemical enterprises in the province. To date, the Liaohe Petrochemical Heavy Oil Deep Processing Pilot Platform is equipped with 29 pilot and pilot-scale units. 　　In recent years, Liaohe Petrochemical has placed strong emphasis on technological leadership. Adhering to a development strategy focused on \"specialization, differentiation, and high-end features,\" it has leveraged its advantages in processing heavy oil as well as in research and development to continuously work on technological innovations. As a result, it has developed unique processing techniques for heavy oil and produced specialty products with broad market prospects. Under China National Petroleum Corporation’s major scientific and technological project titled \"Research on Key Technologies for Upgrading Low-Quality Heavy Oil,\" Liaohe Petrochemical undertook over 80% of the industrial testing tasks as well as more than 60% of the total research workload associated with this project. It carried out 9 out of the 13 planned industrial tests, thereby significantly improving the group company’s overall technical capabilities in processing heavy oil using delayed coking processes.
