For a tank with a conical bottom used in alkaline reaction processes, where solids and flocs are formed, and there is stirring inside the tank, is ultrasound a useful option? If it doesn’t work well, what kind of level gauges do you all use?
Ultrasonic level gauges may not be suitable for use in environments with stirring and solid particles or flocs, as stirring and these particles can affect the ultrasonic signal and lead to inaccurate readings. In such cases, it is possible to consider using radar level gauges or guided-wave radar level gauges; these types of level gauges are less affected by foam, stirring, and solid particles, making them more suitable for level measurement in complex conditions. .
If there is foam and the liquid level fluctuates easily, radar level gauges or differential pressure level gauges can be considered.

By using a weight-based level gauge in combination with a scale, and by entering the appropriate formulas, it’s possible to determine the level. Even when stirring occurs, the total weight remains unchanged; the significance of the level lies in knowing how much volume is still available. Given the fixed shape of the storage tank, it’s possible to calculate the height when the liquid is at rest through weight-to-volume conversion. I wonder if this innovative idea from a beginner is reasonable, haha
