According to data from the Tianyancha app, Sinopec (600028) has newly obtained an invention patent grant. The title of the patent is “A method for preparing 5-hydroxymethylfurfural and 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid”; the patent application number is CN202210606652.4, and the grant date is September 9, 2025. Patent abstract: The present invention discloses a method for preparing 5-hydroxymethylfurfural and 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid. The method for preparing 5-hydroxymethylfurfural includes: carrying out an intramolecular dehydration reaction of fructosyl carbohydrates in a reactor within a two-phase reaction system composed of a weak acid with a cyclic structure, water, an organic ammonium chloride salt, and a low-boiling polar organic solvent, to obtain 5-hydroxymethylfurfural. After the reaction is complete, the target product can be extracted in situ into the organic phase, while the acid catalyst remains in the mixture of water and organic ammonium chlorides. This approach significantly reduces losses caused by the volatilization of HCl resulting from the reaction between catalyst protons and chloride ions, as well as by the dissolution of the catalyst in organic solvents. Furthermore, this invention can also effectively reduce the content of humin impurities in the organic phase, enabling the in-situ separation of the target product from the catalyst and by-products.
