The production line put into operation this time is the first phase of the CCB Jiaren New Materials project, which aims to produce 150,000 tons of green recycled new materials per year, with a designed capacity of 50,000 tons. This production line utilizes the advanced \"chemical polyester recycling\" process, which enables the chemical depolymerization of polyester materials such as used textiles, to produce DMT (dimethyl terephthalate) with a purity of up to 99.99%. According to the announcement, the contract for this production line was approved by the board of directors, supervisory board, and shareholders’ meeting of Seiko Technology in December 2023, with an estimated total value of 320 million yuan. The announcement states that as of the date it was released, the company had received a total of 255.97 million yuan in payments under the contracts related to Jianxin Jiaren New Materials. It is understood that it took nearly two years from the signing of the project to its commissioning; the Resource Recycling Project Team at Seiko Technology was involved throughout the process, overcoming numerous technical challenges to achieve a historic breakthrough from scratch, thus filling the gap in large-scale production in this field in China. “A perfect closed loop from waste textiles to recycled new materials: This project creates a complete green industrial chain loop that goes from waste textiles to recycled new materials, and it represents an important effort in implementing the **\"dual carbon\" strategy. According to technical experts, the core process of this production line is “chemical depolymerization”. Compared to physical recycling, chemical recycling can remove impurities more thoroughly, enabling the recycled materials to meet food-grade contact standards and thereby greatly enhancing the utility and scope of recycled polyester. In terms of the process, used textiles are chemically depolymerized to produce high-purity DMT; part of this DMT is then used in reactions such as transesterification and polycondensation to create recycled PET chips, which can be reused in industries such as textiles and packaging, thereby achieving the recycling of resources. Its environmental benefits are significant. Calculations show that for every 100,000 tons of waste polyester recycled, this process can reduce carbon emissions by approximately 220,000 tons. It also helps to significantly decrease reliance on petroleum resources, providing a practical technical solution for the green transformation of industries such as textiles and synthetic fibers. Strategic significance: This successful commissioning represents not only a technological breakthrough but also opens up new avenues for growth for Seiko Technology, enhancing its core competitiveness in the field of green equipment manufacturing.
