【3D Process Flow】Summary Post – Useful for learning about the process flow: https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-5711616-1-1.html ---------------------------------------------------------- The Spheripol polypropylene process starts in the D-201 pre-contact tank, where the catalyst is activated at a low temperature of 10°C; thereafter, it moves to the R-200 “baby loop reactor” where mild pre-polymerization takes place to form a polymer shell ; The main polymerization stage takes place in two series-connected vertical loop reactors (R-201/R-202), where high-speed circulation of liquid propylene (70°C, 36–40 bar) is used for efficient heat removal and to synthesize the homopolymer matrix ; After the reaction slurry has had its monomers separated via CY-301 high-pressure flash evaporation, the powder can either be fed into a gas-phase fluidized-bed reactor (R-401) to polymerize the rubber phase and produce impact-resistant copolymers, or it can be sent directly to F-301 for low-pressure degassing ; Ultimately, the polymer powder undergoes catalyst deactivation and deep devolatilization in the D-501 steamer (110°C), is dried in the DR-501 air flow dryer, and then sent to the granulation unit.
