Recently, the process scale-up platform for catalytic new materials at China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd., which is part of China Chemical Engineering, was officially completed and put into operation. This platform enables scale-up research on catalytic new materials in batches of over 100 kilograms, providing critical support for overcoming the key challenges in China’s chemical industry and advancing its transition toward a green and low-carbon future. 　　Catalytic materials are regarded as the “chips” of the chemical industry, with over 80% of global chemical production relying on advancements in their performance. For a long time, engineering challenges such as uneven active sites, pore blockage, and unstable particle strength have hindered the independent development of high-end catalysts in China. Based on this, the platform has developed a comprehensive process chain that covers \"raw material pretreatment – nucleation – surface modification – crystallization – impregnation – filtration – drying – calcination – post-treatment – shaping\". Adopting a unitized and modular design approach, it allows for flexible combination of various catalytic systems such as metal oxides, composite oxides, multi-porous materials, and core-shell structured materials, enabling stable scale-up studies at the hundred-kilogram per batch level and laying a technical foundation for the industrial production of catalysts. 　　The platform actively builds an open innovation system to foster an ecosystem integrating industry, academia, research, and application. Adhering to the principle of openness and sharing, the platform serves universities, research institutions, and enterprises in the industrial chain, acting as a \"bridge\" that connects original innovation with industrial application needs. By exploring diverse and open innovation mechanisms as well as models for intellectual property and profit distribution, the platform is committed to fostering a community of interests among industry, academia, research institutions, and end-users.
