According to a report from Sichuan Tianhua Chemical Group in March 2026, the key equipment for the company’s pilot project aimed at producing energy chemicals via thousand-ton-scale Fischer-Tropsch synthesis has been installed, with trial production scheduled to begin by the end of March. According to the Sichuan Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, on July 8, 2025, the demonstration project for producing 100,000 tons per year of aviation fuel from biomass, which was developed by the Sichuan-Chongqing Dual Carbon Technology Innovation Center based at the institute, was officially launched in Hejiang County, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. The project is collaborating with Lanze Energy and Sichuan Tianhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd. to establish a R&D center for the green and high-value utilization of natural gas and biomass. At the same time, a pilot R&D facility was established in partnership with Sichuan Tianhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd., focusing on the technical development and engineering demonstration of energy chemicals produced via the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis route, in order to accelerate the innovation and application of green energy technologies. According to the environmental impact assessment document approved by the Luzhou Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau in January 2026, the Sichuan Tianhua Fertile Synthesis pilot project uses syngas and hydrogen from Sichuan Tianhua Fubang Chemical Company as raw materials, and employs Fertile Synthesis technology for pilot tests; the designed capacity of the facility is 125 kg/h. The newly added FTO synthesis pilot plant is purchased as a complete set; the reactor is a tubular reactor, and the entire unit is delivered as a skid-mounted package to the project site for installation.
