Leesa Sleep launches plant-based polyurethane foam

In 2026, during the 25th National “Safety Production Month”, everyone is encouraged to prioritize safety and be prepared to handle emergencies; efforts will also be made to identify and rectify potential risks and hazards. -------------------------------------------------- Recently, Leesa Sleep, renowned for its award-winning hybrid and cooling mattresses, announced the launch of GreenFlex® foam—a new generation of plant-based polyurethane foam developed entirely in-house by the company. GreenFlex® foam is now used in most of Leesa Sleep’s product line, marking one of the most significant material innovations in the company’s history; it maintains Leesa Sleep’s consistent high-quality feel while significantly reducing its environmental impact. GreenFlex® is a bio-based foam made from renewable plant-based polyols, reducing reliance on petroleum-based materials. Its raw materials come from crops grown on marginal land; they do not compete with food agriculture nor lead to deforestation. Unlike typical soy-based “bio” foams (which utilize only about 14% of the oils found in plants and require energy-intensive chemical conversion processes), GreenFlex® contains 100% renewable plant-based polyols. It requires no chemical conversion and makes use of approximately 45% of the oils extracted from plants. GreenFlex® foam is independently developed and produced by Leesa Sleep at its 650,000-square-foot factory in Arizona, USA, thereby eliminating transportation-related emissions associated with third-party foam suppliers. GreenFlex® holds three independent certifications: the USDA Biobased Product Certification (26% renewable bio-based content, verified by a third-party laboratory), CertiPUR-US® certification, and GREENGUARD Gold certification. Its perforated structure promotes air circulation, resulting in a cooler sleeping experience ； Cushions pressure points to relieve soreness ； And it maintains structural stability over the long term. Apart from the Oasis Chill Hybrid and Legend Hybrid, GreenFlex® has been used in all mattress products from Leesa Sleep.
